چکیده

This paper focuses on the Call Control for the establishment and release of isochronous calls within the DAMS network (ESPRIT project #2146), a distributed ISDN PBX over an FDDI-II backbone optical ring that supports both isochronous and asynchronous traffic generated by ISDN terminals, LAN terminals, and Bandwidth On Demand (BOD) terminals. After a general overview of the DAMS network architecture, the Call Control functional model and its procedures are described. Special emphasis is put on the CCITT Q.931-based signalling protocols and the enhancements required to allow the interworking of ISDN/BOD terminals and FDDI-II.

An Euro ISDN PRI / ATM INTERWORKING UNIT ARCHITECTURE

This paper discusses the architecture and mechanisms of an Interworking Unit (IWU) which interconnects the Euro ISDN Primary Rate Interface with the ATM Network, ensuring the network and service interoperability between the two networks. The user plane (user information) and the control plane (signalling) are encountered separately, because of the different types of information they handle. Oth...

SIP for Call Control in the 3G IP-based UMTS Core Network

This paper present an example of call control using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for multimedia call management in the “all IP” architecture for the core network of UMTS. The first part of this publication gives an overview of the 3GPP IP-based UMTS core network. The second part introduces an interworking scenario between the UMTS core network and the SIP-enabled public Internet. The c...

InterWorking Between IFMP Switching And B-ISDN Access Protocols

IP traffic is growing every day and it is reasonable that IP routers will become bottlenecks in the near future. A solution seems to be the IP switching approach. This approach consists in the coupling of IP routing to fast hardware switching, typically ATM. In this work we are focused on a particular IP switching paradigm, the Ipsilon Flow Management Protocol (IFMP). Nowadays IFMP switching is...

A Model to Specify Security Protocols on the Isdn

In this paper, a general model to incorporate security services in the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is proposed. As an example to prove the model, a security protocol based on public key encryption is proposed. The data units of the security protocol are incorporated to the network layer protocol, Q.931, as an integrating part of the “user-user” information element content in the ...

RFC 5239 Centralized Conferencing Framework

This document defines the framework for Centralized Conferencing. The framework allows participants using various call signaling protocols, such as SIP, H.323, Jabber, Q.931 or ISDN User Part (ISUP), to exchange media in a centralized unicast conference. The Centralized Conferencing Framework defines logical entities and naming conventions. The framework also outlines a set of conferencing prot...
